I have a poem up at Radar Poetry!
My poem “Dressing the Wounds” has just been published at Radar Poetry, accompanied by a recording of me reading the poem and by the painting “Fall Birches,” done by my friend and former colleague Joyce Hayden. The poem addresses, in part, what happens when the unspeakable is spoken. It may be a universal experience to find yourself in the aftermath of a fight, having said something that feels like it crossed a line. How do you recover with someone you love when you’ve traveled together to the edge? It’s incredible how we can mend when we feel broken; how imperfect we can be in love, yet how strong love can be in spite of that. And it’s also about these medicinal mushrooms that I came across at the farmer’s market in Montpelier, Vermont.
